Actually-meaningless
From PenguinWiki
They had a style of painting. A style that bled red onto lips, rouge onto cheeks, powder onto breasts and mint onto tongue. A delicate style that took a piece of rice paper, a calligrapher’s brush, a pot of black water, and a commitment to strokes..
They would not think, plan or design a picture, but would abandon themselves to the freedom of the mind, paint in broad and impulsive strokes, let their minds and the sweep of their arms commit to the energies and harmonies of the moment. Indecision, hesitation and forethought would result in a tear in the paper or a ruining black stain from a stalled brush. And a few or free un-fettered sweeps of the brush would result in a painting worthy of true admiration, a calming agent for introspective insight, a simple elegance that reflected the moments of the artisan’s mind - as simply elegant and descriptive as the haiku poem, as simply elegant and beautiful as the paper lantern.
And so we paint our lives, with absolute absence of forethought or design, letting the harmonies of the moment direct the sweep of our actions and colour the canvas of our days, our sphere of influence, our effect and place in a rapid transition of energies.
Actions don’t define character. Effect defines character.
And you are misery and remorse, you are joy and abundance, you are the next stroke of the next key that spells whatever keeps you upright and breathing. And you choose to own that commitment or you choose to own that waste. Let me ask you, lets answer, lets dance, lets eat, lets fuck, lets you and I answer before our finger drops like lead onto that next key...... ....what..... .....are..... ......you.... ........ ?
....."I" am Id/ego, author of smarminess for dummies.
- I came here to offer my obviously vast intellect. But as I read, wrote and edited, I became aware I was less smart than I thought I was. I screamed in agony. Ohh, such agony!
the collective question is this: can you smell smugness? can you taste it? can you breathe it? I know you can live it - look at me! Look at me! LOOK AT MEEE!
