She felt herself falling further and further towards unconsciousness as stars began to cloud her vision. After several moments of battling the uncontrollable urge to sleep, she succumbed and, within a matter of moments, her mind closed to the events unfolding around her as she lay there in a lifeless heap on the damp winter ground.

Anna tried to open her eyes, but the light was too bright for her weak vision. Barely opening her eyes, she saw a white roof over her. The smell was so familiar to her. She knew she was back to St. John's Hospital, where she had spent most of her childhood. Anna was a patient of blood cancer from the age of 10 until she was 20. She was forced to stay in this hospital. Before she went here, she was such a bright girl, beautiful and clever, and her parents were pleased with her. When everyone knew she had the disease, they felt as if God was playing a joke on her. When she was 20 her blood cancer was finally cured. Knock, knock. The door opened. It was Doctor Ken, a doctor who concentrated mainly on blood and related diseases. Obviously, Anna was one of his patients and friends.
