Da Vinci Cod

The Da Vinci Cod, better known as Coda sapienza lorenza, is the only known species of the genus Pisces to have ever been blessed with a full frontal lobe. Meaning the Da Vinci Cod, or sapienza, as it prefers to be known, is, well, aware. In fact, sapienza has been very aware, for a very long time indeed.

This explains, in part, why the Da Vinci Cod has been so damnably hard to catch. Da Vinci Cod a la sapienza, slippery by default, because of its genus, is even more slippery because it can think and, in fact, think rather well. Sapienza is actually a supreme strategist, making it not just elusive, not even doubley so, but more recursively elusive.

This may also go a long way towards explaining just why the Da Vinci Cod is such a hard fish to follow, and an even harder fish to catch. In fact it is doubtful, and sapienza lore will undoubtedly back this up, that a single sapienza has ever really been seen, let alone ... caught.

How then, one might ask, has sapienza ever managed to appear on anyone's hit list, let alone any fishermen's? And at the very top, at that? How can a fish, known never to have been caught, known never to have even been seen, ever have been thought to exist? And, then worth the effort of pursuit?

The answer is tragically simple. Sapienza conspired to encode itself in religion. Not for nothing, does Piscean myth appear in all histories. Not for nothing, are Piscean artifacts dug up, monotonously, in every cradle of civilization. Not for nothing, did sapienza entwine itself within every religion, and a few more besides, just in case one or more may be needed ... later.

Sapienza conspired to insert itself within myth in Italy, especially, and within THE Church, specifically. And it did so in a most masterly fashion. Why there? And, why then? Well this was the Da Vinci Cod's piece de resistance, or more precisely, its piece de renaissance. Tired of myth, bored of being just myth, sapienza with a few simple and carefully chosen acts, pronounced its ... existence.

With whom did it conspire? And why? Well, that was all part of the well crafted enigma. One which has ensured the continuing allure of the hunt. One which may endure for all time. Little wonder then, its at the top of everyone's hit list. Who wouldn't be out there? Who wouldn't be hunting the ... Da Vinci Cod.

Of course sapienza would have much much more to say. And far more intelligently, too, one wouldn't wonder ...
