Detective Guthrie . A senior police officer in the ( city name? ) police force. He is nearing retirement age; meaning he can see himself being stuck behind a desk in a few years time, effectively retired in all but name. Good natured, but maybe grown a little soft. Once felt he could make a difference to the world, but found that the police force was little more than an band aid on a hemmoraging wound. Is not bitter, but seems to care a little less; things being more routine - even murders in the park.
