A million penguins

A million penguins march across the land,

the sound, the flutter of words unplanned.

Landing upon the electronic book,

A story forms, out of pure luck.

Form, shape, meaning grows

then it disappears and no-one knows.

why, or how, or when, or who

just as the story was beginning to brew.

And then it's back, and all has changed.

"We'll fix that" and we re-arrange,

and delete the edit, we fix that line.

Happy ourselves, all done in time.

But suddenly it's changed again!

Now I don't know where we should begin.

Comic lines where once were serious,

This novel form becoming a real mess!

Swearing, slander, libelous crimes,

will it ever be finished in time?
