Real Novel Chapter Thirteen
From PenguinWiki
Detective Guthrie was pawing through some of the affects of Tony Scolletti. A couple of officers had gone over the apartment where he'd lived. Customary clean up. Checking for next of kin; searching for loose ends that might generate leads to the whys and wherefores. Other than a hatless man who'd heard something they had received no leads to the shooting in the park four days ago. The officers had picked up the usual rag-tag baggage of the dead man's life. Receipts. Books. The Catcher in the Rye; dog-eared and well read.
Guthrie picked the book out and a tattered piece of paper dropped from the pages; unfolding it, he could see that it was a piece of paper torn from a diary. He regarded the paper with curiosity. Then carefully he read.

Guthrie put the piece of paper down. A mad man's rantings. But. But a man, or woman ? He wasn't sure if Runi was a female name; it wasn't a common name definitely, he would have to check. The word "Tango" repeated; like the tattoo of Tango company that Tony wore. Guthrie carefully probed the pages of the book for more pages, but found none.
Frustrating. He regarded the other items bagged and tagged; none showed promise. He should have gone to the house himself. Maybe he still could, maybe there was still time.
