Runi was lying paralyzed in his bed, the situation was very unpleasant, he were lying there as cripple in his bed without chances to get away if or when the lunatic who had occupied the hospitalroom in which he and Carlo was lying in. The man called Jack stepped forwards from the door closer to beds, and it seemed like he was thinking of which one he should kill first.

In fact Jack wasn't thinking at that he was more troubled by his own fight with his own moral aspects on what was right or not. I just have to kill that son of a bitch Carlo, he is responsible for my cousin Antonios death and therefore deserves to die. But it's so hard to really kill a human in reality I'm mean it's just so disgusting in a way. And then there's this damned other patient who will witness againts me, if he sees that I killed Carlo, and that would mean I would have to kill him to. This is just so damned depressing. After a while he had made his decision; "Now I'm gonna execute you Carlos Sandiego for the murder of Antonio Leicester and this man Runihura Morouse, is it so your name is spelled?". "Yes", mumbled Runi as answer to the qusetion he just wanted to stay alive. "Okay so he is the witness of this execution, that will be carried out by me myself immediatley!", Jack said and aimed his pistol at the head of Carlo.

Carlo was sweating badly, this wasn't exactly the kind of way he had thinked of leaving this world by, but of course it would be an very efficent way to go by. He had just thinked of the possibilty that he would have lived a bit longer and passed away just by himself, but what can a human do when the time has come, especially when a maniac is pointing a gun at your head and you are immobile yourself, so that means I'm certainlly a dead man now.

Kate listened at the voices that came from room number 415. She was sure now there was something wrong there, somebody else had come to kill Carlo, and that didn't suit her plans of killing him herself at all. Damned idiot is trying to kill my game, thats more than I can swallow!. Kate kicked the door open and rushed into the room with the revolver in her hands. It didn't take her long before she had aimed it on the large young man that stood near Carlo's bed and fire.

The shot echoed in the corridor for a long time while she watched the man turn round just in time for the bullet to penetrate his left elbow. She fired another shot and it hit the man in his chest and he sighed loudly and collapsed on the floor. Blood dropped from his body and painted the floor darkred. Kate enjoyed the situation, she was after all a killer and she had done it many times before, but it gave her always a kind of spark of external joy.

Runi and Carlo stared both at the woman who had entered the room with such violence. She was rather pretty, not young anymore, but not old either maybe around 35. She turned around and watched at first Carlo and then Runi, and smiled unpleasantly. That woman scares me to death, Runi thought, if the ded man was mad, so then is this woman a total psychopath. Her eyes were black and glancing, and at the same time it seemed like there wasn't any human being behind those eyes, they were like empty holes staring deep into a black hole somewhere in the universe.

Sgt. Anderson and Lt. Guthrie, with for constables following them, rushed upstairs to fifth floor and began to search after the corridor that led to room 415. It was death silent in the corridors they walked through and a fear of being to late began to grow in their minds. Oh dear, I just can't take it, if it's to late once again, it's just so sad to see those innocent people lying dead for no purpose or reason at all, Lt. Guthrie thought while they walked into the right corridor. They began to tip on their toes to avoid noises that would arouse the suspisious of the murderer. There weren't many chances for that there wouldn't be dead people already, but they wanted to save at least the lives there still was to save, if there was any.

They reached the door to room 415, it stood wide open and they could here a voice of a woman talking inside, it was a cold very unnatural voice, but it still seemed a bit like someone Sgt. Anderson had known before. Who is it, can it maybe be Kate, after all she has disappeared from Australia, and there's no reason why she couldn't be here as well as enywhere else in the world. "Let me handle this he said to Guthrie and the constables, "just cover back, I'll try to get in there, if it goes wrong, and I'm killed or wounded, then open fire into the room. There's an extremly dangerous ex-soldier and possibly murderer inside." Thereafter he stepped towards the door and stepped inside.
