[edit] Welcome
Welcome to the Sci-Fi choose your own adventure novel. You are Dhagan, a pilot on the contraband freighter Tagus. Fresh out of private pilot training, this is the only assignment you could find. You chose a reputable private school because you once despised the military. Now you are having second thoughts. Will you choose to increase your stature in the black market, or will you find a way out of it and into a more stable position in the military? Will you advance in rank to be a underworld boss, king of the Sarvos Guild, controlling loads of cash, the destinies of your minions dependent on a whim, or an under-appreciated admiral in the Vagorn fleet, always striving for honor and good despite the cost?
[edit] Sci-Fi 1
The Tagus embarks for the fifth time in 24 terrestrial hours, as you write this. The date is 3415. You are Dhagan, and this is your story.
As you depart you reminisce about an incident that happened to you on the last run. You were hauling engramoplex, a hot new explosive that no one but the Heliosaps are supposed to know about.
You were flying towards your destination as something came up on the sensors. It turned out to be a Vagorn personnel carrier that had been adrift for weeks, apparently badly damaged. They contacted your vessel, saying that their food rations were running out and that a bypass valve had malfunctioned. They were requesting assistance. There were 150 troops on board.
The commander said: "Hey Dhagan. What do you think we should do? You've been here a while, and I'm curious. Besides, you've earned the right to have your voice heard by now. Do we give them assistance," Sci-Fi 2A "or should we blow them to bits?," Sci-Fi 2B he asked, laughing maniacally.
The commander is a generally unimpressive has-been, and you normally disagree with his decisions, which tend to be overly destructive and illogical.
